Default What are your 2012 resolutions for transitioning?

Happy New Year to you all! I have a few that I wanted to share:

Do a better job at protecting my hair at night
Deep condition weekly (not monthly)

I'm curious to know what are some other ladies resolutions that are transitioning. Even if you have one, that is fine to share.

I would like to get some more inspiration and ideas on other things I could possibly do.

Thank in advance

I plan on actually getting and sticking to a regimen. I'm 11 months into my transition and I don't really have anything set.

I also wanna moisturize more.

Box braids will help do the trick. Thanks for sharing! Oh and 5 inches is a great goal!

SCarrin, that sounds like a great goal. Sticking to a regimen is hard work but I know that you will make it happen.

My resolution is to find a hair regimen and stick to it. The only thing that I lack right now is a shampoo and leave-in conditioner. I have been using what I have right now, but I would like to find products that work better than what I am using. And then to grow my hair out the entire year. Right now I am 7 months post perm and I would really like to transition for 2 years.

naturalgirl85, if there is one thing that I would love to find is a great shampoo. It's been very hard for me, either it's too stripping or its not cleansing good enough.

I think that I might try the baking soda cleansing for my scalp.

You can def. do 2 years. Your over the initial threshold of confusion (3-5 months post...well at least it was for me!) So I'm sure yyou will be able to do whatever you put your mind to for the 2012 year!

I'm going to try and transition for 3 years..and guess what? I plan on doing it. Now, if it gets to the point where I'm hanging on to strings...I'm cutting, no second thoughts.

Lets grow!

3 yrs??? Good luck. I'm 10 months into my transition. I cut my hair into a bob, my hair was to my shoulders. I want to go for 2 years, since my cut the back is all natural.

Yes I know . I will keep the board updated. But that's the goal! 1 year will be this March. I'll take it 1 month at a time...

I have gotten past most of the confusion. I finally have a style down that I can do every week and know it will turn out looking good. My hair is moisturized through out the week. So now it is having the patience to grow it out until 2013.

Wow, three years good luck. I know it can be done my sister finally went all natural after a three year transition. Good luck to you.

U can definitely do 3 years, especially depending on ur hair length. I'm rooting for you!!!

I wanted to 2 but after my first cut Idk if I wanna go that long. I dont plan on cutting again for a while so I may still transition for 2 years.
