Default DIY kinky twists curlies, I need your help!

I am trying to do my own kinky twists for the 1st time, and I am about to tear ALL of my hair out in frustration!

Securing the extension in my hair is not the problem, and I've been doing the braid down to twist method, which has been working well. The PROBLEM is when I twist to the part where my natural hair stops. Big, chunky pieces of my hair always pop out of every twist and make the whole strand look messed up. If they were little fly away pieces I could smooth them down, but the chunks of hair sticking out are too big...

I've tried googling and youtube-ing videos and such to see what other people do when this happens, but apparently it doesn't happen to anyone else.

Has this happened to any curlies on here who have done their own kinky twists? Found any nifty solutions?

Any help would be appreciated!

This has happened to me as well. I just get some gel and slick it down. I haven't found a real cure yet...

Are you using the method where you actually twist the two strands of hair between your thumb nd your index finger before actually doing the twist?

I had that same problem your describing but since using that method everything looks unified. N im actually transitioning with most of my hair still relaxed.

You should check out YouTube it's the same technique used for "rope twists"/"Senegalese twists".
