I haven't always been happy with the New York Times's treatment of curly and natural hair, but yesterday it put up a great Op-Ed documentary video (they're calling it an "Op-Doc") by an independent filmmaker, Zina Saro-Wiwa. It's well worth watching.

I liked it, although I disagree that we live in a "post-racial" society. I also don't understand the filmmaker's emphasis on transitioning being a quiet and not an "angry revolution." There's nothing wrong with overt, emotionally backed political change. It's how many changes in this country were brought about.
