I've been transitioning for about 7 or 8 months and I'd love to say it's been a great 7 or 8 months but it definitely hasn't been.
My hair has hit some highs and lows from extreme breakage, split ends to now possibly heat damage?
Now, I do flat iron my hair .. once a week and blow dry when I wash. I do use high heat on both (yes, I know - terrible) but I have THICK hair and low heat would basically be impossible to get it straight. I've tried smoothing serums to make this process easier but it is the ABSOLUTE worst. I do flat iron to match the two textures cause I'm not one who is a FAN of the natural protective styles, for me personally, a lot of them seem .... young and not for me.
Now recently I've been noticing when I blow dry my hair this one section of hair will not go straight, at least not nicely straight. No matter how I blow dry it and straighten it, it's as though the ends are fuzzy and won't go straight. I don't have any loss of curl pattern and have seriously been contemplating going back to relaxed hair for the simple fact: I never used this much heat as a relaxed girl.
My question is: do you think this could be heat damaged? I do use a heat protectant so I do protect my hair before applying heat. Just wanna know what you guys think it could be.
My second question is: do you think it would be smart or reasonable to return to my relaxed hair for the overall "health" of my hair .. yes, I know relaxing isn't healthy but neither is flat ironing my hair everyday or applying all that heat to my hair after I wash.
So why not try roller sets? Idk if it's heat damge.

To be honest, I've never researched a roller set although I have heard about it. Thanks! Will try it.
