Hi ladies! I'm new to this website. I'm 17 and I have been transitioning for 6 months. I am very glad for a site like this and I would love to have you girls' support on my tough journey. If you have any tips or help, feel free to respond, I have to learn my way around this site.

Hello and congratulations on making it this far into your transition!! It is never easy trying to manage the two textures of the hair as well as trying to master finding a technique and products that work. Welcome and congratulations. Really, the only advice I have is making sure you wrap your hair up or have a good pillow case, keeping your hair THOROUGHLY MOISTURIZED!!!!!, take it easy on combing/brushing dry hair. Having two different textures in your hair is kinda difficult; just one teeny mistake and your hair will break off so badly, you won't know what to do (trust me, I know; I speak from first-hand experience)

im 10 months post going for 2yr for big chop and like everyone has said use oils and moisturizers...DC and co-wash 1-2 times a week... my favorite oil is Evoo...

I've been transitioning for 5 months now and I'm really loving it. What really works for me is I co wash evey three days and deep condition at least once a week. On top of that I use Moroccan oil with a leave in conditioner (sometimes I add Aloe gel). My hair loves it, it's so soft!!

I'm also staying away from heat as I don't want to kill my tiny ringlets, they are sooo cute. So I rely on twist outs. Good luck!
