Default HELP! Transitioning after years of having a relaxer.

Hey everyone! So I've been getting relaxers since the age of 8, and I'm 18 now. I would get them done about 2-3 times a year. Recently I've decided that I want to embrace my curls. So far, it's been 8 months since my last relaxer. My hair is in a kind of awkward stage right now. My hair type is 3b, so my roots have a really tight spiral curl. But the rest of my hair is more of a loose curl. What can I do to make my hair more easier to manage?

I did lots of buns, braid outs, twist outs, bantu knot outs, roller sets....basically any style that would help me blend the 2 textures without straightening my roots. They are also low manipulation which help avoid breakage. Pay close attention to the line of demarcation where the 2 textures meet. That is where breakage occurs. You will have some but you can keep it minimal by keeping your hair well moisturized. Stay away from curling and flat irons as much as possible. You don't want to extend your transition by heat damaging your natural portions and having to cut that part off too.Give your hair protein when it needs it and lots of moisture....Good luck!!!!

Thumbs up caramel treatment

Thi!
my hair is texlaxed and i'm about 5 months post and what i do to help loosen my curl patter and prevent where my relaxed hair and texlaxed hair and natural hair lol meet from breaking is doing a carmel treatment.

It really makes your new growth soooo soft and manageable, and really loosens up the curl patter. I hope this helps and good luck transitioning.
This is a video on how to make it all natural ingredients!
