I THINK it was December 23, 2010, but, to be honest, I'm not 100% sure. That would mean I'm almost two years post relaxer, but I don't think my new growth is really that long.

Has anyone else forgot their transition date?

I didn't mark mine and never planned on it. I just knew for sure that I was gonna go natural and that I chopped sometime during the middle of may of this yr lol. Other than that I couldn't give a specific date.

I don't know the exact date of my last relaxer. I was never really one to track my relaxers on the calendar. I do know that it was in the beginning of September 2011, so I just made it September 1st to make it easy to track.

I don't really remember mine either! I think it was the first week of November 2010... I'm pretty sure that's when it was lol

I also do not know the date of my last relaxer and felt the same way about my newgrowth. I have decided to forget about dates and just keep transitioning until I feel ready to big chop as that is the most important thing!

When I see other people who BC after two years transitioning, their hair is always APL or at shoulder length, but mine barely passes my forehead. I know it has at least been a year since my last relaxer. If it wasn't in December, it had to have been no later than April 2011. But then why is my new growth so short? What am I doing wrong?

I started transitioning using braids in January 2012, I use EVOO, and deep condition, and even take Biotin pills. Hmm I think it's so short now because I didn't focus so much on moisturizing my first year and I stupidly let one girl at school comb my hair (while it was dry!!) and straighten it. A lot fell out when she did that. That's the only reason I can think of.

I can relate. I think my last relaxer was November 2009. I know I had a Chi chemical straigtener sometime in spring of 2010, and my hair stylist relaxed just my edges sometime in the summer of 2010. After that...nothing. But here I am in October 2012 with some straight ends still, about 3 inches left (that I can't seem to part with just yet until my hair get backs to a length i'm more comfortable with). I feel like I'm just cutting, and cutting and cutting. My hair was just passed shoulder length, and the entire time up until about April of 2012, i was blow drying and flat ironing my hair every week. I don't know if my hair just grows slower than everyone else's hair and/or if it's heat damage from the constant flat ironing.
