Default My mini chop has made a big difference

I got 2-3 inches cut off my ends yesterday. When I got home and washed my hair (my stylist cuts in dry), I couldn't believe how much of it is natural now that I cut some off. It was a little scary to cut it, but I couldn't be happier with the decision. It doesn't sound like a lot, but it's made a HUGE difference! It was easier to detangle and roller set and it cut my drying time down. And the best part is that in the very back and on my sides, I'm mostly natural...there's about 1-2 inches left of relaxer on those sections. I can def see the light at the end of the tunnel now!!

So if you're transitioning and you have long relaxed ends, don't be scared to start cutting them. I now plan to cut 1-2 inches every month or two now. It's only a matter of time before the relaxer is gone. Here are some pics: Before my cut, after my cut, and after my cut with freshly washed hair (leave in conditioner applied).

yay!!! i did so too.
On 28- 07- 2012. it was so exciting. But now, I have braids with extensions on. I miss my hair sooooo much.
My last relaxer was on 09- 03- 2012. I never knew how much I could love my hair until i decided to go natural... it's like my newest obsession.
I think I'll mini- chop again in December.

LOL. The dates threw me for a minute before I remembered my European vacation.

For those who don't know many counties write the day then the month where in the US we write the month then the day. So in the US, 9-3-12 hasn't happened yet but 3-9-12 has.
This will have me keeping in mind that NC is an international community of curlies.

Congrats to you on your mini chop!! I know what you mean about being nervous cutting off your hair and getting closer to being all natural. My last relaxer was 11/02/11 and I will cut all my relaxed ends on my 1 year relaxer-free anniversary this November.

I have been doing mini chops since I reached 7 months post. I trim 1/2 an inch off, and I plan to do so each month until November. The crazy thing is, as much as I don't want to cut a lot of my hair off (I eventually will), this method has been making my hair seem like it is growing like crazy!! And the beautiful part is seeing more and more of my natural texture shining through!!

Your hair looks so healthy, and your natural texture is also beautiful. Good luck on the rest of your journey.
