I posted before but I'm looking for alittle more info ... I'm planning on starting the transition process into the CG method and my hair is damaged pretty badly. I'm a mixed west indian(Trinidad) and African American girl with 3b-3c hair and I was looking for a few ways to get me started into the process. What are good products that have ALOT of moisture and ALOT of hold? My hair is very dry and is in a loose state currently.

These products work for me and keep my hair clean and moisturized
Tresemme Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner. I don't know about hard hold gels.

texture - medium/fine, porosity - low/normal, elasticity - normal
co-wash - NaturelleGrow Coconut Water or Marshmallow Root, Slippery Elm Bark & Blue Malva Cleansing Conditioners
LI - KCKT mixed w/ SM C & H Curl & Style Milk
DC - NG Mango & Coconut H2O or Chamomile/Brdck Root
Gel - SM souffle (winter), KCCC (summer) or CR Naturals Aloe Whipped Butter Gel (year round)
Sealers - Virgin Coconut Oil, Avocado butter, Aloe butter
Ayurvedic treatments - Jamila Henna, Sukesh, Aloe Vera Powder, Hibiscus Powder
.

I'm doing no sulfates, silicones of parabens to nurse my hair back to health. Do those products have any in them? I'm looking for something with really good hold.

for a cg friendly gel with good hold, the best I've had was fantasia ic gel with sparkle lites(dosen't actually sparkle lol) for conditioner I second tresemme naturals(but WITH olive oil)for shampoo loreal evercreme (nourishing) or creme of nature argan oil shampoo
i would second the tresemme naturals as a rinse out conditioner. it is really effective.

I would also suggest ultrasheen duo tex as a protien treatment(you get a huge bottle for about $5)

as for hold it would depend on the style. if youre talking braid/twist outs i find that a setting lotion is really effective. i would recommend elasta qp design foam for a really strong hold

if you want something to slick your hair/define waves i would say wet line xtreme gel. that gel is some serious stuff. i no longer use gel but this was the stongest holding gel ive ever used. it is also very drying but i suppose if you found a decent leave in it would work well.

Ecostyler gel is great! I use the clear one which I think is the strongest hold, but a lot of people on here use other ones (I kind of want to try the olive oil, but I feel like you shouldn't mess with a good thing). Ecostyler seems to work w/ almost any hair type and it is very cheap (I also want to try SM curling souffle, but can't justify replacing my $3 gel with a $10 one....)
