how do i take care of my cornrows?

i have decided to start braiding my own hair. and so i just finished my first cornrows on my own. question is how do i maintain my style, so that when i take it down i dont experience lots of breakage.

Just keep your hair moisturized and it should be fine. a leave in spray will do the job and use braid spray to seal.
