HELP. im so confused

well im almost 17 and before i graduate next year i want to know how to grow my hair and keep heat and chemicals away, my hair isn't really curly, and it isnt straight either. its THICK when its thick and flat and i mean FLAT when its flat. yeah i know it makes no sense but im serious, im trying to go natural, i havent had a relaxer since like around september or october. my hair stays dry and my scalp always itches! when its wet it doesnt really shrink much and doesnt curl much, sometimes it just goes flat when wet. idk what my hair patteren is, but its like nothing is working. the top of my hair seems the healthiest while my side and back are like shrivel and dryish. ugh and so much more confusing mess. but those are the basics of my hair. any suggestions?????
It's not going to be like after a couple of months no relaxer BOOM natural hair is just all over the place. It takes a while (year or two) before your hair is fully grown out. Your hair isn't going to curl that much either because majority of your hair is relaxed. Do braid outs, twist outs, or something else to blend the two textures. OIling your scalp may help with itchiness.

Try deep conditioning once a week (sleeping with conditioner and oil in your hair really makes the hair soft and shiny) and a protein treatment of egg, mayonnaise, and oil once a month. In terms of curl pattern, it will take a while to determine because much of your hair is still relaxed. I've been transitioning for almost a year and twist outs/braids outs with perm rods at the ends help to curl my relaxed ends and blend them with my natural hair. Also try Bantu knot outs. There are several natural hair gurus who have awesome tutorials on Youtube for how to achieve and maintain these styles
