So after 28.5 months, I finally chopped off all of my relaxed ends (well, there might still be a few hanging on, but by and large they're gone)!

I'm so happy! I've had somewhat mixed reactions, but who cares, I've wanted this for so long, I felt like I could cry when I looked in the mirror. I've had a relaxer since I was 5, I've never had my natural hair, and there I was staring back at myself with a halo of it on my head. Finally did it! Big chop/transition chop-image.jpg
Last Relaxer: July 6th, 2012, approx 1:30pm.
12 months/52.2 weeks/365 days transitioning!

You look great. Congratulations!

Thanks! I was trying to post more than one attachment but couldn't figure it out. Here's my hair length before I cut it (stretched of course).

Now it comes a bit past my collar bone stretched.

It looks great! Props to you for transitioning for so long. I'm only at 14 months and I keep fighting the urge to chop haha
Your natural hair journey is about to get more interesting with figuring out how your hair behaves now that the relaxed ends are gone. Keep us updated!
ninadef likes this.
Mix of many types, but I'll say 3B
Fine thickness, medium density, mixed porosity
WL wet
Currently transitioning from heat damage and relaxers

Still figuring my hair out

It will be two years for me and my hair is shoulder length curly and a bit pass BSL stretched, I don't care about the "haters"...LOL!

I was so encouraged that I decided to stop getting the acrylc overlay on my nails as well. I had to wait a year for all the damage to grow out but I finally have 10 beautiful nails of my own and I am loving it!!! It has been 20+ years since I have seen my own nails!

They look so good...no polish, just clear...

This natural thing is "tha BOMB"!!!
My hair is "exotic, beautiful and free",,,yeah, that be ME!!!
3B/C - Easy to straighten, [no heat ever/no protect. styling].

All in all, I'm happy with my hair type but almost for sure think yours is prettier.
You have some of the cutest spirals I have ever seen. Nice definition.
