You can BC if you want to. If you're not ready you can wait longer. I've seen fotki albums of women who transitioned for more than a year. You can transition for as long as you want. It depends on what you're comfortable with, what hairstyles you like, how you feel when you're detangling or styling your hair, etc.

Yeah when you BC completely depends on your comfort level. I know for myself i transitioned for about 20months and i wouldn't have changed that for anything because when i was ready i knew it.

Do it if feel too.I think it's better now or at any holiday season like Easter,Christmas e.t.c Cause it's better for you to get to know your hair and learn how to cope with it before you rock those curls at school (because people at school can be so rude ,so i believe this time is the best time to build up your confidence).Or you can transition for longer if you want too and cut it whenever you feel too.Discuss it with your sister too...Good luck

If your mom used a hot comb it still counts, but hopefully she didn't damage your natural hair.

You should only do the big cut when you're ready. Trust me you'll know when you are. I transitioned 10 months. My niece transitioned for 24 months and cut away little by little.
