Smile Wait a few more months!

You seem like a 3c/4a combo to me. But to really tell you need a lot more new growth. Right now I have about five to seven inches of growth in some places others only 3 to 4. Personally, I still do not really know myself. The first inch of growth looked completely different than the way my hair looks now. It makes a difference the longer it gets. My hair only curls about every two to 2.5 inches. It is pretty much straight in between and very elastic-like. The longer it get the closer the ringlets are growing together and it is wrapping itself in more of a coil-like form. At first the hair was growing in very coarse but now the growth is softer and thicker.

I would recommend just keeping your hair healthy and deep conditioning as much as possible. Also, get good trims too. I trim my hair every eight weeks and it has maintained its length and at the same time, I am slowly clipping away the relaxed part and replacing it with the natural. Good luck on your transition. Your natural hair is beautiful.

I agree, wait until you're fully transitioned before you attempt to type your hair. The relaxed straight hair distorts the new growth.
