Product to heavy?

I just started cowashing my hair with Suave Natural. I think I've done it two or three times. My hair always feels really heavy afterwards and my detangling hasn't been going as nicely. I've never read that Suave was a heavy conditioner but I can't figure out what else it can be. When I was co washing with my old conditioner I never had this problem. My hair is very thick and is type 4a. What other things can be causing this to happen? And is changing conditioners the only way out of this problem?

Hey there. I use the Suave Naturals Coconut conditioner too. I like it, I haven't had any problems with it. But I cowash every 3rd day and since I've also added 2x weekly protein treatments I let a deep conditioner sit on my hair for a couple hours prior to cowashing it. I also use Suave on my daughter's hair, and it seems to be just fine. I have learned that detagling under running water really does the trick for her all natural 3c/4a hair. Most of my new growth issues arise when I start trying to rock a ponytail or bun.
