Question Is this a stupid idea?

Well, I came up with this idea last night as I was doing my hair (I did a twist-out for the first time, it turned out OK...lol) I was thinking to cut the relaxer off a little piece of my hair, somewhere that is easy to hide.
This way I can measure the growth of this one piece of hair to see my progress and measure when I can do the bc. Is that silly? Has anyone ever done this? Let me know what you all think!

I don't think its stupid... especially if its in a place no one can see. I've done the same thing, but not to check the growth... I do it just because I'm bored and probably take it way too far. There are so many random pieces cut in my hair and they're all not in places that are hidden. that might be stupid.

Not stupid at all. I have several shorter pieces in my head from 'experimental BCs' lol. Your texture is pretty.

Thank you! I am still so excited from it! I can't stop touching my hair! It has really made me reconsider when I want to do my bc!

you're welcome.

and same here. Every time I do that I think about finishing it off but I want at least collarbone length hair when I bc.

How long do you want to transition for?

How long do you want to transition for?

I was planning on doing my bc when my hair was at least long enough to put into a ponytail but with the shrinkage and my impatience I am not sure if I can wait that long. It will be either July--which will be one year or Oct. which is 15 months.

When are you doing yours?

I think thats a great idea, I have done 3 different sections of my hair already... it helps you get use to your texture and the shinkage, believe me when i did my most recent mini mini chop I was shocked but it took me a few days and i began to love it. Also it is very easy to hide if you dont do it too close to the front of ur hair line.

That is not a stupid idea. I have done the same thing to the back of my hair. That section seems to be growing the fastest for some reason. I will just cut a tiny piece. It helps me really see the natural texture.
