Any advice??

okay, well I haven't relaxed my hair for about 10 weeks now. I am in the beginning stages of my transition/ grow out. I am terribly eager to just get rid of all the hair that is relaxed (which is pretty much all of my hair except for about an inch of it). Should I wait a bit longer before the BC or just go ahead and take the plunge. I should mention that I have rocked short hair for many years and have no problem with it, but for some reason I am having some reservations about it because I have NEVER gone as short as I would have to go to be completely natural...what do you think??
I know exactly how you feel on this one. My goal was to transition 12 months, but I'm very impatient and want to BC sooner. I've never really had long hair and I've had my hair cut short before so short hair isn't a problem for me, but not quite sure how well I can rock a twa, lol. But if your concern isn't strictly on having length when you BC, then go ahead, or you could just wait it out another month or so and see how you are feeling after that. But ultimately the decision is yours, and whenever you do decide to BC it should be for you and only you.

I think that it all depends on what you think that you can handle. My original plan was to transition for a year and I only made it five months just because I think that I was finally ready to let go of my relaxed hair. I never had short hair before my BC, but now I am glad that I went ahead and did my BC because I kind of feel like I'm learning about my hair from the ground up. It's all a personal decision and it depends on what you feel like you're ready for. HTH!

10 weeks of new growth is preeeeeetty short, taking shrinkage into account too, so I would say sleep on it a little while if you're not absolutely sure yet. Remember you can cut it, but you can't put it back. (Until it grows anyway..)

I thought I would have quite a bit of new growth after 11 months but after I cut it, it appeared a lot shorter than I expected. But hey, if you're cool with very short hair then by all means, chop it! chop it! chop it! Just be sure it's what you want to do.

Congrats on choosing to transition. I would do what feels right for you. There is no single approach. At different times I've both cut it all off to a TWA, and I transitioned more slowly from texlaxed to natural. For me if there's a major contrast between new growth and chemicaled hair, the chemicaled hair would probably come off my head.

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.
Hear that crash? It's me falling off the CG wagon.
Thanx so much for the advice. I went ahead and chopped it all off!! haha And I actually felt pretty relieved about doing so, but it is kinda funny to see how people react to me having such short hair (like a boy).
