What hair type is this? I posted these on another board but no one could answer.

I cut off the last of my relaxed ends in May. I used this board and others to learn about hair care. It's pretty straight when wet but dries in s curls. This is almost 3rd day hair. I co washed on Teusday and left a little conditioner in for moisture. My hair without condioner looks the same but feels drier.

Wow you have really beautiful hair. Three years transitioning? I know that took a lot of patience. I am not good at curl typing so I will let others weigh in on that. I wanted to compliment you on your hair and now being fully natural! Your curl pattern does appear more loose and wavy so I will take a guess and same somewhere in the 3 family.

Thank you. It was very hard. I felt like giving up at times. I was to scared too bc. I had lots of mini trims and 3 mini hair cuts during this period.

I think I'm in the 3 family too but I would hate to mislabel myself. My hair is strange. No one at the other board could type me.
your hair looks like it ranges between 2c-3b...im not sure though.

Congrats on your BC. Your hair is gorgeous and shiny. Your hair looks like a mix of 3a,3b with 3c at the back near the roots. I applaud you for transitioning for 3 years. Have fun on the natural journey.
i dont think you are in the 2c range...from you pics, your curl size reminds me of 3c, and some 4a. 2c is more of a wave, and your hair is definitely curly!

beautiful hair! and congrats on your b/c after 3 years!

Thank you all for helping me type my hair.

So far on this message board and on the other message board that I've posted on, most people have stated that my hair is a mixture of type 3. I have 3a on the top with a 3b/c mixture underneath. I've read the descriptions and I agree.

My hair is pretty straight when wet and dries in s curls. It doesn't tangle or form knots that much and I don't have a problem with dryness.

Thanks again.
Your hair is beautiful, congratulations on your successful transition. I would say you are a rare type 3c, one without a curl pattern but with a wave pattern. You have mostly s-waves and a little curl at the end.

Playing with my hair is a hobby. Fluffy, fine natural 4a. Goal= Healthy, beautiful hair that retains its length.

You are the first person to label my hair as this. Interesting. My hair is wavy but doesn't seem quite like a type 2. That's one of the reasons I had a hard time typing it. I have lots of wavy curls of varying sizes. I've had beauticians describe my hair as wavy too, but now I know it's not wavy in the type 2 sense but with lots of loose s curls instead. My ends do curl and I think that helps keep my hair together without frizzing too much.

I guess hair typing is kind of subjective. So far on these message boards just about everyone has labeled my hair as a type 3, whether that's 3a, b, or c. Many have said I have a mixture of all the 3s with 3b/c being predominant. So that's what I'll go with. Since my tightest curls according to most of the responses are 3c, I'll just follow and focus on 3c regimens and haircare.
