Experimenting... LALSG & SSM?

This gel made my hair so crunchy & flat I haven't used it since I bought it. It gets such good reviews on here I don't want to return it, but I haven't gotten out to Sally's for a Li yet. If I put the LALSG in my hair then tried putting handfuls of water in it would it help with the crunchiness? Or would it just rinse the gel out?

I find that when I have extra water in my hair, the gel gets diluted more -- so, it does get less crunchy, but it's also like putting less gel in your hair. If you do SSM with it, some gel will drip out with the water, so it will be a little less crunchy, but there will be less product left over.

Also, if the gel makes your hair crunchy, have you tried SOTC (scrunching out the crunch)? Once your hair is fully dry, scrunch your hair lightly to release your hair from the gel cast. Most gels will make your hair crunchy -- it's their job, basically -- more hold usually means more crunch! But, SOTC definitely helps with this.
