Default Ingredients questions: Alcohol and Glycine Soja Oil

I´m looking for a product for co-washing in Germany. It´s easy to find con-free stuff, but everything has Alcohol and Cetearyl Alcohol in it, either one of them usually on the second place. Also, a lot of the conditioners that look interesting (organic and dirt cheap, no parabens) have Glycine Soja Oil in it. How bad is this ? Will it cause build up ? What about Glycerine ?

I really hope someone will answer, because I really don´t know what to get...

Here are examples of conditioners:

I am pretty new to all this so you may want a second opinion but it seems like the Glycine Soja Oil is just soybean oil so it shouldn't build up on hair.
Same for glycerine - shouldn't cause build up.

But depending on your hair type, they might not be the best ingredients for you. But I think you just have to try them out and see if it works for your hair.

Not all alcohols are drying. Cetearyl alcohol is actually one the fatty alcohols that moisturize, so it's ok. I'm not sure about plain alcohol, but I wouldn't let that stop you from trying it. If you notice it dries you out, then you can do something about it.

Glycerin is also ok, but you may have problems with it if you are in a drier environment or season. Humectants can dry you out if not used when there is some moisture in the air. Again, don't let that deter you. It's just something to be aware of.

Hi and welcome! I am fron Germany too and understand how frustrating CG-ing in Germany could be. I started a week ago with the alverde-stuff and l'm pretty satisfied with it. I don't love it, though. It contains a mild, gentle surfactant named Lauroyl sarcosin. The ingredient is allowed though, bur I still have a lot of frizz and wonder whether its caused by the conditioner or by my routine. I'm still experimenting with it. Anyway its difficult to find something suitable in Germany as you know. I'm toying with the idea of ordering something organical from U.S

Everyone, thanks a lot for the explanations !

For frizz I find that flaxseed gel used as a leave-in conditioner helps. I am thinking of making my own conditioner using Hobbythek stuff Jean Ptz Produkte - Gutes fr Gesundheit und Leben I made my own shampoo with their products, and I loved it.

I have to go to my local Hobbythek and talk to the guy, he has tons of books with recipes :-)
