Is it even worth trying CG? Need help!

first ill just say that i have 3b thin-medium thickness, shoulder length curls.
early this year i tried CG for maybe 3 months and I never saw any real improvement. my hair was pretty much the same. it felt the same too.
but the thing is, my hair has never been dry. it never looked or felt dry. it was always soft and nice. i have always had good curly hair, there was some frizz and poof, but thats normal. i even shampooed everyday! all my life i never used anything but leave in conditioner with a cone in it to style, up until this year and my hair was still nice. i rarely had to get haircuts also, until heat damaged my hair.
but now my hair is soo short and it poofs out more since i have layers, i have the same amount of frizz as always. im considering trying CG again but now i dont know if i should even bother. with the right non CG products my hair could have like no frizz or poof. and if it didnt work for me before (and i gave it a lot of time as i said) then i dont think it will work again. i was even strict CG before. since my hair was never dry or that bad then should i even bother trying CG again?
basically, i think my hair is fine with sulfates and cones! but im not sure. i just dont wanna go through all the stress i went through last time just to see that CG does nothing for my hair again!
thanks!

i dont think you need a try cg again since your hair is soft thats kind of the goal of cg lol...so if using no cg products will eliminate the pooof then by all means go ahead

Did you begin by doing a clarifying cleanse? If not, the silicone buildup from before may have kept you from seeing results.

Another possibility is that you may have had hidden silicones in the products you were using when you thought you were CG. You sure wouldn't be the first person to have that problem.

Also, some people have problems with polyquaterium buildup. They're supposed to be water soluble, but some combinations of products contain so much of them that it can be a problem.

I agree. My product had hidden silicones, so I had to wash with a sulfate shampoo. Guess I have to start all over! :(

I am a 3c and I have been using the cg method for a little over three weeks. I have seen drastic results. My curls are more defined than they have ever been. The very first time I tried it, I didn't get the same defined curls. However I tried it again. The next time I clarified first and the results came out better. And they have continued to improve with each cowash. I am loving the cg method. I will likely never go back. Also try waterlily716, she is a 3b as well and she uses the cg method and has her own YouTube channel.

I have 3a-3b hair and at first I never really noticed a difference. My hair was pretty healthy before I started the CG method and I never really straightened it at all. The only major difference that I have noticed is that my hair is curlier than before. I learned everything I know through watching waterlily716 on youtube.
