I've never had luck with refresher sprays. One the rare days that I attempt second day hair, what works best for me is to spritz lightly with water, scrunch in a little bit of mousse and smooth a little bit of CIAB over the canopy to tame any frizz. It sounds like a lot, but the whole thing takes under 3 minutes.

I've found 4 that work well. For second day I like Deva Mist-er Right and CURLS Lavish Curls (aka Quenched Curls). Lavish Curls is great beneath other products to keep them activated.

For refreshing without dampening or rewetting, I like Curl Junkie Curl Fuel and Roots of Nature Mango Cupuacu Curl Reviving Spray.

The choices depend more on my budget at the time of purchase than which works best, LOL!

You can make your own.. I heard of a couple ideas people use.

Conditioner + water
Rose water
Aloe vera juice
Oil + water
Tea
Apple cider vinegar
Sea salt + water
Water
Or a combination of these.

you could take a look at the product reviews on the curltalk board or curlmart. it probably depends on your hair properties, so try to find the one that people with similar hair like.

i tried mist-er right, and i find it gives me tons of frizz. it also has a very potent smell.

Default I like

The Lavish Curls spray by Curls for Target. Some people complained about the fact it sprays in a stream (which it does), so I just spray a few pumping my hand. Smells like a tropical drink and is very slippy, so it doesn't create frizz. It gives me nice soft curls.

I get second and third day hair by putting my hair in one braid with a bit of conditioner at night before going to bed. In the morning just unbraid and smooth the front with a regular conditioner. If you don't want to braid it at night just refresh with a conditioner and scrunch. The spray conditioners seem to loosen the curl more than i want.

May I ask what your curl type is?

I have Botticeli or 3B curls, and for me, what works best, is to wet your hands alot, don't shake off the excess water. Then bring your fingertips to your hairline right above your forehead, and comb your hands into the roots, shuffling them lightly att the roots. I do this 1-3 times, and then I just spritz my hair all over with water.

Water tends to work best, because if you think about it, drenching your hair in the shower will have your hair brand new, so rewetting will have a similar effect, without the hassle.

I just use water...really creative, I know lol. I have tried several other techniques, but just plain water helps the most. I usually get even curlier hair on my 2nd day

I had the same problem. I like the aussie hair insurance leave in from a drug store. However, I started using water mixed with aloe and its the same thing just without fragrance.
