baking soda in conditioner
Hello, I have been having some difficulty with hard (or possibly too-soft, according to my research) water and my skin. So now I am wondering about my hair as well. I have been doing the CG and I like it but I notice I do have a matte-feeling that only releases when I put the conditioner on it, something that did not happen at college (as well as my skin problems). It makes it impossible for me to comb my hair under the shower head, which is what I am used to doing, without losing lots of hair.
So here is my idea: I like to use suave or vo5 for co-wash and then I use tresemme naturals as a leave-in. So I was thinking to add less than a spoon of baking soda to my co-wash conditioner in order to combat the water issue. Then I would rinse and spray a lemon juice + bottled water mixture out of the shower before I use the leave-in. Then gel/oil to seal.
My question is for anyone who feels like their quality of water might be causing them issues as I feel my NYC water is doing to me: Have you tried baking soda with conditioner, either mixing it or doing one before the other, etc? If not, do you feel like this might be a good idea?
Thank you
BTW I have fine - medium density - high porosity - 4a hair. I am not sure what is wrong with my water but it leaves my skin 'sticky' no matter what soap I use and I have the matte-feeling hair when I let the water soak it thoroughly.
