How to safely clarify my hair? Baking soda?

I'm thinking of trying out the Baking soda rinse but I'm too scared because I keep hearing bad stuff about it. I've tried ACV rinses but I don't think it's really done much except making my hair smell funny. I don't want to buy an expensive product... I just want something simple and natural to use to clarify my hair and create a brand new, clean base for me again.

Thanks!

The recipe calls for 1tbs. Bs to 1 cup of water. But you can always modify this to start out as bs can be a little drying. The measurements are really trial and error.

You can also try using an aluminum free bs brand such as bob's red mill. I personally use this brand and find it less harsher on the hair compared to arm & hammer bs.

In either case, as long as you make sure to work the bs wash into your scalp (using fingertips no nails) and rinse out thoroughly you should be fine. :-)
