Natural/safe product recommendations
I'm a new fan of the Environmental Working Groups (EWG's) Skin Deep Cosmetics database that rates cosmetics (including hair products) based on the safety of their ingredients.
I just started the CG no poo method and also found I'm protein sensitive. I'm looking for products with no sulphates, no silicones, no protein AND are highly rated as natural and safe (that's not asking too much, is it lol). Does anybody has any recommendations?
Thanks!

I don't know as far as specifically EWG rated but most of the more natural products are from small companies and are only available online. Off the top of my head: Spiral Solutions, Darcy's Botanicals, Botanical Spirits, Marie Dean, Donna Marie, Ingredients To Die For. Some of these are available on CurlMart. You might also check out your local health food store and then check ratings for whatever they carry. Aubrey Organics, Natures Gate & Alba Botanicals are likely, these are all also available from iHerb.com You can also get natural products from Etsy.com (Boticelli Botanicals for instance) but I doubt they'd be EWG rated since they are handmade.

Thanks! I am always on the lookout for new natural hair/body products!
One of the problems I seem to be having though is that most of the natural hair product lines have aloe...and my hair HATES aloe.

CJ Beauticurls Leave In is protein free also. I have never used their line but heard this product was really good. Also I used to buy the more organic conditioners like Aubrey Organics, Nature's Gate, and use these as leave-in's.

Marie Dean even has a protein free line (and products w/o aloe)! Whew, that's makes things easier.

Do any of these lines have a good basic clear gel? I'm willing to try the homemade flax gel, but I'm about to have a baby, and don't think I want to add one more thing to the routine just yet. Something purchased to use in the meantime would be great!

Botticelli Botanicals (on Etsy, as mentioned) has a basic "Flaxseed Gelee" & she also has a stronger hold "Styling Mudd" made from okra. I just ordered the Styling Mudd...we'll see how it goes.

Ha! True. I forgot to mention she has lots of different scents you can order it in (or you can order it unscented).
