Curly minimalists, no pooers, and natural product users...?

Sorry I posted in the wrong thread before!

Okay so I had done no poo last year for about 8 months roughly. It was great. I did bs, shampoo bars and acv rinses. My hair was getting really dry and tangly and after a while not much cur definition. I'm back to using conditioner, stylers, lowpoos etc. and its been awhile. I'm noticing I been shedding like crazy. Mostly when I have conditioner slathered on and I runy fingers through my hair. Ita juat not fun to scrunch gel into your hair when there are a bunch of conditioned hairs all over you (aren't attatched to head anymore haha).
I chopped my hair to past my jaw line so I'm wondering if I should do no poo again or just switch to using more natural products. I like cheap conditioners but not the weird ingredients... for example suave vs. Kckt.

Any suggestions, experiences, or comments?

P.S. I have hard water.

Thanks!

I suggest trying the CG method by the book, i.e., following the method as described by Lorraine Massey in Curly Girl: The Handbook, available here or here.

The information in it floats around here in bits and pieces, and you're much better off getting the book, so you get all the information, and can follow the method the way it's meant to be done.

Yeah I need to buy it already. I guess minimalism won't happen for me lol. I like being a pj so its okay with me

Yeah, my hair sheds quite a bit too. It's annoying, but I seriously wouldn't stress over it.

You're meant to shed about 100 hairs per day and, for us curlies, those hairs don't fall to the floor, they get tangled up in our hair. If you're like me and wash you hair every few days (as opposed to every day), then that's a good few hundred hairs that are finally getting the chance to detangle from your curls.

So shedding is natural and fine and there's not much you can do really :) You're meant to shed so new hairs can come through, so as long as you're not noticing that your hair is getting thinner / you are experiencing bald patches, then I'd just go with the flow!

Side note, just to your above post: Lorraine Massey's method is actually pretty minimalist, so maybe following that will break your PJ ways lol

You could possibly go with conditioner only styling. One single product for cowash, rinse out, leave in and styler sounds pretty minimal to me ;)

Okay maybe I just need to get over my hair shedding. I get so annoyed when im ready to apply product and there's hair all over my arms, hands etc. It makes me so mad!
I think y'all are right. The thing is I like being a pj but I also think its ridiculous to spend so much sometimes. I want to probably use as natural products as possible. I used the coconut and hibiscus cowash, smoothie, and mist last night from she a moisture.
