boar bristle brushing?

Does anyone use a boar bristle brush between conditioner washing? I feel like I could go longer between washes by brushing before I shower, but is that going to do damage to my hair or disrupt my curl pattern?

I have 2b/3a hair.
Thanks,
Lia
I brush with a boar bristle brush morning and night; it flattens out my curl but the curls come right back after getting wet. I think it actually helps the curl pattern. Distributing the oils down the hair shaft is good for the hair plus you get the scalp stimulated which is also good.
Type: 3a, fine, thin, low porosity Water/Climate: soft/ marine Washes: water w/washcloth, shikakai, clay Condition: Style:Seamollient, CurlsPFCCP, Miracurl, Gel-les'c, CK; rudeechick's super soaker method; blot, air dry 30 min; diffuse Also: coconut oil

I have a boar bristle brush too, and it doesn't seem to disrupt the curl pattern in any way. It does disrupt the curls that have formed though, so I definitely wouldn't brush it AFTER showering.

I actually haven't noticed a big difference as far as brushing versus not brushing it. It makes sense that it could distribute the oils, but like I said.. it ends up looking and feeling the same to me either way. I'll usually use it to put my hair into a ponytail if my hair is freaking out and I don't feel like wetting it down.
2c (I think), course/THICK!, med porosity

I enjoy my hair curly the 1st day or so. After day 2, I use a BBB and get ripply waves. I only use a BBB, no other
brush touches my hair since The Great Enlightenment.
Mostly I use a wide tooth comb.
I've really wondered about this. Right before I came across CG I had bought a boar bristled wooden brush as I was told it helps with dryness and brings oils down better to your ends.

It did wonders. I had one a battle but not the war however. I was still on the loosing end.

I came across CG during my search about static in my hair. After doing some inquiring I had put the brush down and walked away slowly, but I keep looking back!

I don't mind going brush less, my hair is easy to get through, but I often wonder if maybe using a boar bristle before showering maybe good. It stimulates the scalp and would smoothes things out. It would help distribute oils in my hair which may result in using less conditioning products. That's only a theory, I haven't tried it. I never noticed a curl pattern change in my hair when I did brush.

Anyways, anymore thoughts about this?
