DeniseMcCoy, Before and After

Submitted on Saturday, April 4th, 2009 by DeniseMcCoy

What did you learn from the Curly Girl Challenge?
The greatest thing I learned was that my hair is unique and special, just the way it is. I can embrace my curls, play with them, and not hide them. Lorraine has taught me over the years to be my own person through my curls. The products have liberated me and with this freedom has come confidence, strength, and beauty unimaginable. A few simple steps and products, which took years to develop, brought me to learn to be fully myself.
How has it changed your hair?
My hair went from being unmanageable, unpredictable, frizzy and "poofy", to sleek, moisturized, manageable, and gorgeous. I now get stopped almost everywhere I go by other curly women who ask me what products I use. I just started carrying DevaCurl business cards in my purse to pass out to them. I actually live more fully because I don't have to plan my life around my hair! As silly as it sounds, I know what my hair will do now. It matters not what the weather is or what I'll be doing that day. I know my Deva products will NOT fail.
