What did you learn from the Curly Girl Challenge?

I learned to accept my hair as it is and not how fashion says it should be. I spent most of my 41 years blowing it out, using curling irons, using flat irons, brushing it to death and highlighting it. I ended up with damaged hair that I couldn't grow past my shoulders. I spent too much money trying to get the perfect products to do the impossible. The Deva products have healed my hair and made it possible for me to love my real hair and not constantly worry about what it's going to do! I work in a humid environment (dog groomer) and can leave work without having to "fix" my hair. Curly Girl has set me free!!!

How has it changed your hair?

My hair is now past my shoulders and has beautiful loose, shiny curls. I don't worry as much about what the wind and rain will do to it, because it seems to stay where it wants and looks good all the time.( at least to me!) However, I'm hoping that after my too short layers(remains of a bad haircut) grow out my hair will look thicker!!
