What did you learn from the Curly Girl Challenge?

What I learned from the Curly Girl challenge was to just relax and let my hair do the talking. Before starting Curly girl, I would work for hours every day trying to keep my hair from frizzing. It took a hard hit on my self esteem, because the only days I would feel good about myself was when I had a "good" hair day (that was far and few between). Before I discovered the Curly Girl Handbook, and DevaCurl I would work for hours trying to get my hair to curl perfect. I had no idea it was all of the sulfates, cones, and all of the other "pooey" stuff in the so called curl mixes.
How has it changed your hair?
The challenge definatlly saved my hair from all of the hazards I was doing to it. It has made my hair no doubt softer, less frizzier, and I accuatlly LOVE to go out during rainy days because my hair just gets curlier! Before when I would straigten my hair everyday I would curse at my curls.. oh how I hated them. Then after reading the Curly Girl Handbook I realized that not everyone is as fortunate as I am to have such beautiful curls, so I should be thankful for what I got. That is when it all began..
