My Decision to Go Natural

I decided to go natural for alot of reasons, but I think that being a weave queen dominated my personality. I didnt feel comfortable without it and I felt that there is more to identity than having long hair that isnt really mine anyway. My natural hair was long and pretty healthy, but permed, nonetheless... so I decided to let my hair grow naturally.

I transitioned for a year :/...with weave and although I cut off the permed ends, I still wear weave half the time, which defeats my initial purpose of going natural... so now that the hair transition has ended, the identity transition has begun.

  • I am a 21 year old university senior studying Human Development and Family Studies. My blog will be about my struggles transitioning COMPLETELY from weave to natural. I am 100% natural, however I have weave relapese often... hopefully I will rehabilitate!
