1st Trim in 9 Months

Well, it has been offically nine months now and I must say that I have enjoyed the journey.  After nine months of protective styles ( braid-outs and sew-ins);  Yesterday, I made my 1st trip to see a natural stylist and the experience has changed my outlook on the process.  I chopped off 2 inches and gained 4 1/3 inches of beautiful soft, and curly hair.

I was in awe of the beautiful texture that God has given me; it had been over 20 years since I saw the real state of my hair and it bought me to tears.  Since, I am opting not to do the big chop ( for Hubby of course, I would have chopped all 14 inches of by now) I got a rod-set for now,  in two weeks will be another 2 inches off....until next time

The Hair Saga continues...

Let me say that Miss Jessie's Baby Butter Creme is working wonders on my new growth.  It is so hydrated.  My mommy is still doing my corn rows and I am continuing my braid-outs.  Needless to say, I need to buy my daughter a new jar of her own because I have been using it.. Not sure why my updated pics are not posting...I will keep trying...until next time...

Ughhhhhh...Lord help me!!!!

Ok, so  I have been researching for a protective style and it has been a process Whew!~!!!  However, I am enjoying this journey of a new profound love for my hair.  I have so many options and that just shows me that I have been missing out on years of FREEDOM!!  What a joy to embrace my God-given texture.  Ahhh the joys of life...for now I have been doing braid-outs which look fabulous...the best part about it is that my mommy does my braids and it gives us quality time to reflect on those days I disliked getting my hair braided...talk about throwback days....gotta love it.
