Do or Die!

Do or Die

I made a promise to myself that before 2010 was over I was going to do something drastic. I gave myself two options:
1) get a Halle Berry Pixie cut
or
2) go natural
You can guess my choice since I'm here.

I have been relaxing my hair for a little over six years now and I'm BORED. When I was 13 and 14 getting doobies (wash, set & wrap for the non-Jersey folks) excited me, but no more. Straight just isn't doing it for me anymore.

I now realize that there is a whole world of natural hairstyles that I am missing out on. {Oh how I wish I'd known back then}

Doing this blog is important for me because it is a reminder of the commitment I've made to this. The only reason I didn't do it earlier is out of fear. I'm hoping to find some support from people who are going through or have been through the process so I don't chicken out.

My last relaxer was in November 2009 and my goal is to transition until November 2010 and cut off the relaxed ends for my 20th birthday {symbolic: leave my relaxed ends w/my teenage yrs....how deep lol}

I'm currently rocking braids (I got them before I made the decision because I'm studying abroad in London for 5 months and I wanted to give my hair a break). They're due to come out in March, I'd love advice from anyone on what I should do @ that point.

    congratulations on ur decision to go natural again. i transitioned for 1yr before 1 BC'd i would suggest you start looking up natural hair care products. the products you used before wont work the same on your new textured hair. alot of the problem with transitioning and adjusting is just finding the right products that work well with your new hair good luck!

    Thanks so much avamarie!....it's gonna be overwhelming to find the right products since there is so much info out there but I know it'll be worth it.

    Thank you for your comment Queen Lene. I looked at the website and it was very informative. Your insight has helped me reach a decision to no longer get trims and to let my natural hair grow as long and as curly as it want's to be. Thanks a bunch! Lauram940
