How can I tell if I have heat damage. I've been natural since Dec. i added heat to my hair

If after washing and conditioning while your hair is still wet you notice straight, scraggly pieces that don't fit into the rest of your curl pattern...then you have heat damage :-( I've heard once/week protein treatments will help but cutting them off is your best bet. You can cut a little at a time without doing a "big-chop" while you're "transitioning".
