it depends on the person really but it's ok with your type of hair but i would recommend you to not wash your hair everyday so your natural oils could reach your ends but if you work out alot you should probably wash your hair every day/every other day . And if you decide to wash your hair everyday i would recommend you to co-wash to make your hair softer and more moisturized .

Moisturize as needed. Make sure your hair is stretched in order to prevent knots. type 4 hair is prone to shrinkage and that leads to terrible knots. Stretching it will prevent most, but not all, knots
