DIY Hair Oil using Jamaica Black Castor OIl - NaturallyCurly.com

Easy DIY multipurpose hair oil treatment for pre-poo, sealing ends, scalp massage and everyday moisturizing.

Ingredients

Directions

First, fill half your bottle with Jamaica Black Castor Oil (use a dropper if necessary), using a different dropper, add 2 tablespoons of Grapeseed Oil. Tightly close bottle cap, shake and your oil is ready to use. (See video for benefits of both oils and info on where to purchase oils)

*Optional* add 8 to 10 drops of your favorite essential oil for fragrance and added benefits.

I used just 5 drops of Lavender eo because I wanted a very light lavender scent, but feel free to add more. A rule of thumb is to add up to 8 drops of essential oil per ounce of carrier oil.

I would suggest starting with the 5 drops, secure the cap on your bottle, shake to mix - then smell to test whether you want a stronger scent.

Also if you want to completely fill your bottle feel free to add a little more Castor or Grapeseed oil. This recipe can be made with regular Castor oil as well.

For those who prefer thinner oils Rice Bran oil is a great substitute for Castor Oil.

The oil can be used as a styling aid, to seal in moisture, for scalp massages, pre-poo and after wash conditioner (you can add a little to your conditioner as well to enhance its moisturizing properties). The oil can also be used on your body.
