4C HAIR - Used as my leave-in conditioner. Amazing moisturiser. Also helps control frizz and improves definition of twist/ bantu knot outs

  • - 3 tsps linseed (flax seed)
  • - 1 cup hot water
  • - 2 tsps Aloe vera gel
  • - 1 tsp glycerine
  • - 1 tsp coconut oil
  • - Lavender oil
  • - Vitamin E oil
  • - Sweet Almond oil
  • - Argan oil

1. Add linseed and hot water to a pan and bring to the boil, stirring occasionally.

2. When foam begins to form on top of the liquid, strain liquid while hot.

3. Put strained liquid in another pan and bring to the boil to thicken (NB I do this step as I prefer a thick gel and if I leave the liquid to thicken with the seeds, it is hard to separate gel from seeds)

4. Add another cup of hot water to seeds and repeat steps 1-3. (NB add all your strained liquid progressively to the same pot on the boil)

5. Put thickened gel in a bowl and add:
a) 2 tsps Aloe vera gel
b) 1 tsp glycerine
c) 5 drops Lavender oil (or your favourite essential oil)
d) 1/2 tsp Vitamin E oil
e) 1 tsp Sweet Almond oil
f ) 1 tsp Argan oil
g) 1 tsp coconut oil

6. Whisk ingredients with a fork until fully mixed in

5. Store in a clean pot and use within 3 weeks
