I used greek yogurt! Expired yogurt is great as well, just make sure that container is sealed so that no bacteria grows in it. If it does, just scoop out the bacteria! I have mixed clay with mine and kept it in the fridge til I need to use it! Its better to drop essential oil , so that your hair doesn't smell like sour milk! LOL!

This was great! My 3b hair soaked it up and looked especially healthy the next morning. The only reason I have to give it a 4 instead of a 5 is the yogurt. It was my first time applying yogurt to my hair and despite rinsing my shower cap, towel, and even shampooing/conditioning my hair afterward, the tart smell was fairly persistent in all three. Still, I will be doing this again, but will prepare better next time!

Yes you can vitamin e oil instead of the pills. The pills are cheaper.

what are vitamin e capsules? Can you use vitamin e oil?

Once I applied the mask I could see there was a major difference in my hair, I believe that it soaked in all the ingredients with gusto, but I tried it without the vitamin E capsules so I'm not positive that it was used to its full potential. But I enjoyed the cooling sensation (I put mine in the refrigerator over night) and the smell.
