I hate to say anything bad about anyone, but if I can prevent even one person from experiencing what I did, then I have to try.I called Changes and asked for the highest ranked stylist who knows about and likes curly hair and got Lolita. I had never seen the curly girl book at that point and did not understand what was best for my hair. I figured Lolita knew what she was doing. My hair has never looked worse and got progressively worse with each appointment. I would stress that I wanted to wear my hair curly and Lolita would dry it straight and tell me that was just another option. All of the products Lolita suggested that I use were very drying to my hair, which she actually had the nerve to suggest was because I was aging. It got to the point where my hair cut alone was so bad that I had to have recut again every 3 weeks and the last time within 3 days at another salon, where the stylist diplomatically told me that I would not need to have it cut again for at least 6 weeks because now it had some structure. I wasted tons of money and time at Changes. I am glad to see from the reviews here that there are good stylists there for curly hair, just don't take anyone's word for who you get and read the curly girl book so you can appraise your stylists rather than blindly trusting the salon's rating as I did.
I visited Changes on a whim, looking for a new stylist. I'd thought that my old stylist was great, but she was nothing compared to Heather! She knew exactly what to do to perk up my curls and give them new life. They look amazing! She listened as I described the CG routine to her, and she made an effort to use sulfate-free shampoos and silicone-free styling products. I'd go back to her in a heartbeat!
I visited Nicole because of the review here by Tousha, and I am happy with my hair for the first time -- probably ever! I had tried several different stylists and all kinds of product, but still my hair ended up in a ponytail by 9:00 a.m. every day. I had almost resigned myself to bad hair for the rest of my life. Then I met Nicole. She really has a gift. She "listened" to my hair and brought out its best. I haven't pulled out a ponytail holder in a week. I get compliments daily. I feel beautiful. Thanks, Nicole! And thanks, Tousha, for taking the time to write a review. It changed my life!
I have had bad haircut after bad haircut. She gave me the best haircut I have ever had. She has curly hair, and she knows how to handle my 3b locks!
