I had my first (and definitely not last!) cut with Tamara a couple weeks ago and it's AMAZING! I have super big curly hair and never thought I could do anything with it other than leave it long and cut straight across the bottom. I got bored enough with it though that I decided to give Tamara a shot after finding her on here and she gave me the cutest most stylish 'do I could have ever asked for! Just like a lot of people I'm sure, I was terrified that I wouldn't be able to get it looking as cute as she did with her products and expertise, but when she assured me that it was "all in the cut" she really meant it! Good thing since I'm a low maintenance kind of gal! I feel sassier and more stylish and than I ever have and will definitely be going back! Thanks Tamara!
Tamara has been cutting my curly hair for over 7 years. She's a master at undercutting and sniping in just the right places to bring out the best curl in my hair. She will give you a great consultation before even touching the scissors. I definitely notice the difference from when I used to go to a non-curly specialist who would cut my hair too short and the curls would shrink up or they would cut the curls at the wrong part of the revolution and they would be too blunt. The salon is cute, kind of a mid-century modern building with a retro flair. Last I heard Tamara was going to persuade the owner to let her redecorate.
This is the same Tamara from Salon Bella and Genesis. She's at Tashsa's across the street from Salon Bella. It's an old-fashioned beauty parlor (not fancy) but she lowered her prices which lets you get more work done for the same price. She's been cutting and coloring my 3c corkscrew curls for about 8 years. She uses Schwartzkoff color which is one of the best. She doesn't push you to buy products. She's an expert at cutting curly hair to take advantage of your individual curl. I've had her do texturizers a few times (Redken, I think). She's really nice and I look forward to my hair appointments.
Tamara cut my hair two weeks ago, and it was the best haircut and consultation session that I've ever had in my life! She took the time to analyze my facial features (which NO hair stylist has EVER done), and she explained what type of haircut would be most flattering to my face. She listened to what I wanted and at the same time, she told me what to expect if I went with a few different styles. She offered suggestions, and I went along with it. I was SOO happy. My hair is probably either type 2A or 2B, and I always considered it straight. I have tried to curl it or make it wavy AT LEAST, but I've never had any luck. Tamara showed me an easy way to work with my hair to make it curlier. I look like a different person when I fix it that way; very sexy hair! Sometimes I just keep it "straight," but thanks to Tamara's teaching, I now have options. I recommend anyone with curly hair, or even if you think your hair is straight (like me) to see her. I'm sure she's probably great with straight hair too. She has changed the way I handle my hair! I can't wait to go see her again! :)
Tamara Mooney has been doing a great job of keeping my hair in line for about five years. Every time I’ve gone for an appointment, she has taken the time to ask about my experience with the cut and color, whether anything needs to be changed, and she listens. Over the years we’ve evolved a style and color that work for me. I’ve seen that she can do a great job with any type of hair, not just curly. I can recommend her to anyone.
