She is fantastic and attentive and always gives me the cut I want. My curls come back to life with her and she does AMAZING highlights. I always feel taken care of in her hands. I highly recommended her

The last review was in 2009, so I'm going to say this. The salon owner is rude, and blamed me for why I was sitting under the dryer for 45 minutes. She has an attitude and everyone in the salon knows it. Out of all my visits I'm going to be honest.. I only had on bad haircut.

Stylist: Santa Cruz (Owner)

I waited more than a year and a half before having my damaged, fried hair properly cut at Salon Santa Cruz at the end of April 2009. The usual routine at my old salon would be to wash, blow-dry, flat iron, THEN cut my hair. The last two times I told the stylist (the owner, no less) to use more products, and use less intense heat before trimming. After running her hands through my hair she barely used any product & used the flatiron far too long (I could smell my hair burning) and ultimately damaged my hair so that it looked like my ends were growing out a relaxer. I went to Salon Santa Cruz after researching on this site, and several others, and booked with Santa. Needless to say, she had to cut off all the damaged ends (more than 8 inches of hair that I’d been trying to grow out). She began dry-cutting my hair, washed it, towel-dried it, & then cut my hair into the perfect shape for my face. She used Mizani moisturefuse conditioner in my hair and WOW the texture & shine is fantastic. My hair is soft, has body, and still looks great (after more than 2 months)! She's VERY knowledgeable about all curly hair types. I will not be going anywhere else to have my hair cut. My Mom even went (she has 2b/3a type curls) and she looked so fabulous that she went to buy new glam earrings. I am still loving my hairdo, & getting lots of compliments. I highly recommend Santa for your next curly cut if you live in the NY Metro area, or are just visiting.

The last two times I told the stylist (the owner, no less) to use more product (my hair's quite dry), & use less intense heat. After running my hands thru my hair she barely used any product, left the flatiron in my hair (I could smell my hair burning) and ultimately damaged my hair so that it looked like my ends were growing out a relaxer when rewashed my hair a day or two later and let it dry naturally. Went to Salon Santa Cruz after researching on this site, and several others, and booked with Santa. Needless to say, had to cut off all the damaged ends (more than 8 inches). Stylist: Leslie

I am only in New York for two weeks, but I took the opportunity to get a first-class haircut. I had heard such conflicting reviews about Devachan that I took the chance on the good reviews of this place from NaturallyCurly. I was not disappointed! They fit me in within 2 days, were courteous and thoughtful, and had great atmosphere. Not to mention Leslie! She was a great listener, attentive to my specific wants, and great at improvising where I had no idea what I wanted. A little pricer than I would have liked, but a great experience, great consideration, and a great cut!

Stylist: Leslie

After years of mediocre budget cuts, I walked in to Santa Cruz unruly locks almost to my waist and in desperate need of a proper cut and style. Leslie was able to fit me in even without an appointment, and had me get washed and treated to a complimentary conditioning treatment while she finished with her previous client. The entire staff was friendly and professional, and I enjoyed the most relaxing hair wash and head massage I've ever had. The care and attention she took during my consultation assured me that I was in most capable hands. She immediately understood my comfort level in taking off length, and explained the best way to shape my hair to reveal my full curl potential. Leslie really took her time with my cut, I couldn't be happier with the final result. I have a fresh, lighter look and feel fabulous! Thank you Leslie! I'll definitely be back.

Stylist: Katya

I had tried this salon about three months ago, not knowing what to expect! I had very long curly coarse hair and had a color job done really bad. I needed help , I went to Santa Cruz and met with Katya. She helped me learn about my hair and how to take care of it. I let her use her skill and take a chance to do whatever she wanted. All I have to say is that I was speachless when I looked in the miror...... It was the best hair cut style and blowout that I have ever recieved from any hair salon.I got more compliments on my new style than ever before.People did not realize it was me. That was the best feeing I have ever felt. My new cut and style brought me a new life.

Stylist: Santa

I'm a white girl who wanted an afro, so I found Santa Cruz on NaturallyCurly.com, made an appointment, and decided to give it a try. When I got there, Santa herself looked at my hair and warned me that it would be a difficult and lengthy process, but nevertheless, squeezed me into her appointment book and got to work. She and two other people, Jeffrey and one of her Junior stylist, worked on my hair. Aside from the totally laidback and terrific atmosphere, the stylists were incredible. My hair came out AMAZING, and needless to say, it was an almost impossible task to accomplish. I can truly say that Santa is one unbelievable stylist. She is extremely knowledgable, with an AWESOME personality. I haven't been this pleased with a salon visit as far back as I can remember. They have outdone themselves. I would undoubetdly recommend this place!!!!

I live in Connecticut and used to get my hair done locally to avoid Manhattan salon prices. Then I realized that my hair needed some serious help (911) color and cut. It's six months later and my hair has never looked better. The color has been corrected and has never looked more natural. I love the cut ! If you want a great cut and/or a great colorist call Leslie. She is truly talented. It's hard to believe that someone so young and fun could take hair so seriously.
