Based on a review on Naturally Curly, I called the Salon early this week and spoke to Nonglack. The review I had read spoke highly of James, but Nonglack assured me that she was also well versed in curly hair. I made an appointment for a haircut. She is a very nice Thai woman, and although she does not have curly hair herself, has many family members and friends with curls, so she has plenty of experience caring for curly hair. My hair is 2c, wavy and very thick. I have it cut in an above the shoulder bob style which needed reshaping. She used Redken products, shampooed with Fresh Curls and cut my hair wet, trimmed off the "corners" and used the texturizing shears to add lots of layering to the ends of my curls. She then rinsed my hair in the sink, applied leave in conditioner and Redken gel,(Ringlet I think) and diffused my hair dry. I had a very pleasant experience at this small, modern attractively decorated salon, and I am very pleased with the shape and the curliness of my hair, and the moderate price of the cut($29). This salon also stamps the back of their business card, buy four haircuts and the fifth one is free. I will see how this haircut wears and how fast it grows out before I rebook, but at the moment I am very happy with my new 'do!
