I booked an appointment with Laura after reading the reviews here. I have long, fine, wavy/curly hair that I've had a lot of difficulty finding good stylists for. She seemed to be very comfortable with cutting it (her hair type isn't all that different from mine) and offered helpful styling tips at the end. It's a nice, chill salon and down-to-earth atmosphere. It is also not cheap - my cut cost $100. I only get a cut once or twice a year, so I don't mind paying that so much as long as it's a good cut. I will go back.
After so many lackluster or just plain disastrous cuts I am so glad I found Laura. She totally "gets" my quirky 2c/3a curl pattern and understands what I am looking for in a style. She gave me perfect sexy layers for my past-shoulder-length curls and since I started going to her I finally feel like I have an awesome look and not just a mop! I've even had strangers ask me where I get my hair done and I send them to Laura. Best of all, she does free touch-up trims between appointments so her cuts last a long time. Thank you Laura!!
It took me forever to find the right stylist to cut my curly hair. Laura truly is a "curl expert" (as you can tell, just by looking at her, she's got an awesome mane of curls herself). She fixed a terrible cut I got while out of town on business (never again!)and totally understood what I wanted my hair to do and what styling issues I have with it. Seagull is an adorable funky little place. I'm used to bigger places, but it is charming with friendly staff and in a great neighborhood. They carry the morrocanoil line and I now use the mask, but otherwise I am sticking with Devachan (which they don't carry). I highly recommend Laura and Seagull. Seriously the best cut I've had in my life.
