I went to the salon for the first time and was not disappointed. I got a haircut and highlights. I didn't know what I wanted done and a stylist (sorry, I don't remember her name :) ) threw ideas my way and I got great results. It's a great feeling that you can trust someone with your hair even at your first appointment. This salon will stay in my life... And next time I will remember the stylist's name! :)

Amazing! I do not ever remember being so happy with a hair cut! Patience is amazing, patient and professional.. taking her time, not rushing you out. The atmosphere is great and no pushy sales.. a completely wonderful experience. Thanks!

I started to go to Chiggy's in 2009 and I had the best hair cut of my life with Karlene. I didn't realize she left the salon when I tried to rebook my appointment this year. I went back to Chiggy's a few times and did not have good experiences with the cut or service. THe last time I went there in June I was kept waiting with the stylist Patience took a consult. Nadine was kind enough to cut my hair but it was not a good cut. I will not go back there.

I will start off with saying that i had the worst experience of my life at this salon. Between the service and the atmosphere, I don't know which is worse. The one good thing about it was the cut i received, everything else sucked. They had a FOLDABLE chair underneath the standing dryer. The stylist I got had no knowledge about the products she used, and in turn, I left with my hair dryer than when I walked into the salon, and i came for a TREATMENT and CUT. The stylist I had was caucasian, she had the cut down but the styling and service sucked. She left me to eat with my hair dripping down onto my clothes while I was under the dryer. I could go on and on about how bad my experience was, but you get the idea. Overall a horrible experience.

This salon is the best and i hadn't been there for sometime as i was in europe for the past 6 months on business. It's like they understand how to make a girl feel welcome and get what she deserves. They upgraded their look (awesome job!!!!) and there are new faces helping out. I used to be scepticale at who touches my hair and when i found someone i stuck with them. But thanks to higgy's touch it doesnt matter who touches your curls they all do an awesome job. I asked why that was and i found out that the owner Patience Picks the best candidates to work for her and personally trains them. GIRLS I will say this once, CHiggy's touch is a curly girl dream land!!!!! now i walk in there and from my first step am relaxed and doesn't matter who touches my hair i always walk out feling and looking like a queen!!!! If you haven't yet Go check them out. Thank God there is a place i can go and relax with someone touching my hair....lol! thank you chiggy for all you do!

If you have curly hair, do yourself a favor and try out Chiggy's! I have been going to Patience for over a year now. Never in my life has anyone ever cut my hair as beautifully. She is a true curl expert! My curls used to get weighed down by the cut and just frizz - or my hair would get so bulky I would just keep it in a bun or pony tail. But for the last year I have had great curls. Patience also colors my hair and the color is the best I have ever had. It brings out my fair skin and blue eyes. I consistently get compliments at work, from relatives, and even when I am on vacation I have had strangers comment on my cut and color. I first went to Patience just for a consultation. I was a little intimidated to go to a yorkville salon, but everyone is so gracious and welcoming. I remember also how excited Patience was to makeover my look, she really loves what she does. After a few months I got the hang of the products Patience showed me. I wash my hair, use leave in conditioner, then mix a little moroccanoil and in my hand, use my fingers to comb it through my hair, diffuse and viola - I have a great head of bouncy curls. It sounds corny, but when I look in the mirror I am so pleased with my look I always have to smile and think "thank you" to Patience.

I wasn't two impressed with Chiggy's. It was a nice salon, but I didn't like the service. I went in for a "blow out" and trim. My hair went from almost BSL to collarbone. I nearly peed myself. It took two years to grow back. Also, my hair was cut into DEEP layers, which I did not ask for that and they are still not gone, although they look better now (2 years later) that my hair has grown out in that shape. Initially, it was terrible because my hair shrunk up so much that my curls didn't hang anymore. I couldn't even put it in a decent ponytail when it was curly. It was a mess. Also, to detangle my hair before washing, my hair was BRUSHED (Denman style brush), when it was dry with product (curly). EEEEK! Since that experience, I have totally become a DIY. I learned to cut everything myself.

Ok, now I wont make a review every time I get a haircut done by Karlene because this is the second time i write about her...but i can't help myself!!!!!!! So i just came back from getting my 2nd hair cut and OMG!!! I went for a shorter, bouncier look (medium cut) and i'm not kidding, A GUY WHISTLED AT ME AT THE BUS STOP!!! LOL! My hair got back it's vitality, Karlene, you are fabulous... what would I do without you?!!!! Ladies... I dont know what to say more than this (I came back around an hour ago to the office and i'm still looking at myself in the mirror at my desk, hee hee)but Karlene made me love my curls again, more than ever!!!!

I was less lucky with Patience than the other reviewers. On the basis of the rave reviews on this website, I went to Patience for a cut and color. At the time I had shoulder length hair and wanted a trim. I showed her a picture from her website of a cut she had probably done herself. After agreeing that she "this length is good," Patience cut about four inches off my hair, giving me the short poufy cut I've received all too often, with very short layers. It has taken most of a year to recover from "Chiggy's Touch." She then had the nerve to suggest extensions! The color was nice, though.

I just relocated back to Toronto and came to this site to find a recommendation for someone who knows how to cut naturally curly hair. Like the rest of you, I've had my share of nightmare haircuts and salons where the receptionist promises that ""everyone here is an expert at cutting naturally curly hair"". I read about Patience at Chiggy's Touch, and I booked an appointment immedietely. I was so impressed with her! First, she is such a sweet and gentle person. She really makes you feel at home in her salon- despite the downtown location, it is not at all intimidating to be there. Second, she really knows her stuff. I walked out of there with the best haircut I've had in ten years or more. I walked in really embarassed as I had colored my hair much too darkly- plus, it had gotten all out of shape from bad haircuts. Despite having a full day, Patience fit me in and offered to fix my colour once she realized how self-conscious I was about it. She gave me an excellent haircut that really defined my curls and suited my face. This is the first time in many years that I haven't had to clip my hair up part way to make it look ok- what a relief! In addition, Patience took a lot of time with me and explained exactly how to style my hair at home. She had me watch in a mirror while she showed me all kinds of tricks and tips, and even showed me the best way to use a diffuser. I have never had a hairstylist take this much care with me and really seem to want to help me feel good about how I look. I have nothing but the highest recommendation for this salon! My husband was SO happy when i got home. I should also mention that Salynn (not sure if i spelled that right!) is the hair colorist and she did a beautiful job!! and was also very nice and welcoming. Thank you so much to both of you! I am more grateful than I could ever say. Run, don't walk, to Chiggy's Touch!!!

For the longest time i always had my hair straight.Kim did an awesome job. The good thing about it is that the whole salon is good at what they do...Go CHeck It Out. I had forgotten how beutiful my curls looked. Kim not only went through the consultation in detail with me but gave me tips on how to maintain my hair. I felt at home the minute i stepped in the salon. These guys are good. Go check out Kim she made me fall inlove with my hair again.

I have NEVER walked out of the salon so happy! Chiggy's Touch is the new salon of Patience, where she once worked at Curl Ambassador. Patience was so attentive to my curls, and took great pride in teaching me how to style my curls. For years I have gone to salons and stylists have ended up blow drying my hair straight, thinking it's a treat. Finally I have a cut that emphasizes my curls -- never in my life has my hair been so curly! Some people even asked if I used a curling iron to get my ringlets (and my hair is the type of hair that hangs limply from my head if air dried, with a slight wave). Thank you Patience for such an incredible cut! I'm hooked for life! Rosalia

I went to see Sarah by both the recommendation of the site and a friend. She did an awsome job. It was the first time anyone paid attention to the details of my curly hair. She selectively removed alot of the bulk, leaving my hair lighter, softer, with a great shape and more curl definition. It was also the first time I didn't have to go home to shower and redo my hair!Excellent job.

Run, do not walk to see Patience!!!!!!!!! I have never in all my years of hairstylists, had someone who was so talented as her. She knew exactly what to do to my hair , without me having to do my usual trimming myself when I got home. She made my curls have the shape and body they only dream of. Do I need to say more........... GO!

I just got a fabulous cut and colour from Patience earlier this week. Even more important, it still looks great when I do it myself (and it was easy)! They carry some great hair product ("Mixed chicks"). Usually no one notices when I get my hair cut (probably because it ends up in a pony tail soon after) but this week I've been getting tons of compliments. On top of it, Patience is very cool and interesting to talk to.

I visited Patience when I thought that no one else could help me. I had been given a razor cut 6 months ago after having my baby boy. When I asked the hairdresser why I'd loss my curl she claimed that the pregnancy hormones were responsible. Gone were my wash and go curls. After visiting Patience she gave me a short and sassy do to bring back those curls and I feel like a yummy mummy even if I can't spend a lot of time on my hair. She suggested a leave in conditioner that enables me to finish up all the left over products that have been sitting under my sink - so I didn't have to spend a great deal on more products, which I really appreciate. We're a team now and I'm looking forward to my hair growing out fun and curly once again. Go visit Patience!! BTW - Sarah her colour technician is incredible as well.

184 Davenport Ave LL (416 619 5477) I have mixed (black & white ) curly hair and I hadn't gotten my hair cut in years. I have usually had bad experiences with hairdressers in the past as most hair dressers do not understand curly hair. However I decided to give Patience a try as i have heard a lot of good things about her. Patience made me feel very comfortable and at ease. All of the staff at Chiggys are VERY friendly. Prior to my visit I had very flat, damaged, thin and dull looking hair. Patience added shine and body to my hair and she cut off all the dead ends without loosing the length as i had asked. She also gave me a long layered cut that looks good both curly and straight. My hair now feels a lot more healthy, thick and smooth ... i cant stop touching it , It hasn't felt like this in years! ..... i love the products that she used for my hair as they were very light and did not weight my hair down at all . Patience also explained how to take care of my hair and what products to use to keep it healthy looking and strong. I am very happy with the results and i would strongly recommend her to anyone who is "afraid of hairdressers", as she is awesome !

I was almost in tears when I found out that Patience had moved. She gave me the best cut and color I've ever had in a long time so I just had to let you know where she is. She is now at Chiggy's Touch on 184 Davenport Ave.

Best cut and color I've ever had! Patience totally knows her stuff. She not only knows how to cut curly hair,(she does it dry!)but gives you a style that flatters the face and explains how to take care of curly hair. I absolutely loved the color, very rich and vibrant.(has not faded one bit!)She loves the pureology line which is 100 percent Vegan, sulfate free and color safe. I look forward to years of health looking hair now instead of split ends and frizz. Patience is also a very nice person and makes you feel like you've known her your whole life. I highly recommend her!

Patience was very knowledgeable about curly hair. She asked me about my goals for the haircut, then cut it dry and told me about all the products she used. I came out with a beautiful haircut which I was very pleased with! (The homemade banana bread and tea were great too.)

Patience gave me the best hair cut color and product recommendations I have ever recieved. At the end she also gave me a fabulous ready to go out , "curly do" AT curl ambassadors they have a variety of hair products for various hair types. The color Patience used made my curls bouncy and shiny and did not dry my hair out. The mixed chicks and jessicurl products she used in my hair were GREAT! My hair was frizz free and not stiff or crunchy just bouncy shiny healthy ringletts. As a bonus while i was waiting to get my color processed the staff came by with freshly baked cake and tea. The staff makes you feel at home. The best part was everything Patience did to my hair she walked me through the process so i can create the same, "Curly Do" at home. Patience even called a couple weeks later to ask how i was liking my hair and if i had any questions. CURL AMBASSADORS IS THE BEST CURLY HAIR SALON WITH THE BEST HAIR STYLIST IN TORONTO!!!!!
