I hate to rain on everyone's parade here, but I had a downright scary experience with Angie. While my cut was alright, she left the hood dryer on my fine 2a/b hair for too long and literally MELTED the hair around my hairline. I'm not kidding... I got home, and I had all these little tight curlicues around my hairline that broke off when I touched them. I have pictures to prove the damage. I estimate that I have lost 20 - 30 hairs in the very front of my hair to the heat; my eyebrows were even singed. Worst of all, she rushed me out of the salon and didn't even tell me there was anything wrong. It was very noticeable... She must have seen it. If you have fine hair, I strongly suggest that you head for the hills before coming here. Angie obviously doesn't deal with fine, delicate hair often!
I had found the David Dalton Salon here on Naturally Curly so I figured I ought to leave my review here as well. Angie is absolutely AMAZING. She was knowledgable about all of my hair concerns; cut my hair beautifully in a way that will promote growth; and was, by no means, trying to push products on me (I hate it when stylists push products). I'm super happy with my hair cut and the tips that she gave me in caring for and styling my hair. Her personality is great, which is not necessarily something I look for in a stylist (I'm mostly concerned about my hair) but it is definitely a huge plus when it happens. This is my salon from now on and there is no need for me to salon-hop any more.
If you're looking for a Deva-trained stylist look no further. Angela informed me that she'd just returned from her 3-day Deva training. I was excited to get my first Deva cut. Angela is the real deal. She asks tons of questions about how you feel about your curls -- like what your daily hair routine is, what products do you use, etc., etc. Finally she asks what you want out of your cut. She's knowledgeable and friendly and above all, she LISTENS to you. Highly recommended!
