I had long found it difficult to find someone who really “gets” curly hair. Then I discovered Rachel after reading the wonderful reviews here and on Google. Rachel understands curly hair as a stylist and as a fellow curly girl. She knows how to distinguish between different types of curls, and she knows how to cut in order to bring out the shape of curls and reduce problems with frizz. She is also the first hairstylist I have encountered who can recommend affordable, easy-to-find all-natural products that are ideal for people with curly hair (which she actually uses and shows you how to use during your session). She has also created a nice small, down-to-earth and relaxing environment for her clients. It lacks the pretentions and loud pop/techno music that can make a lot of larger salons feel draining. And, honestly, I enjoy hanging out with her during our sessions. She knows how to relate to different kinds of customers and make you feel at home. So please check her out!
This was my first time having a cut and color with Rachael. She took the time to listen to and to address my concerns and she gave me exactly what I wanted. She explained things in a way that helped me to understand what kind of cut would be best for my hair and her advice was spot on! She is a genius with naturally curly hair and I highly recommend her. She is definitely my new, favorite stylist!
Trying to find someone who understood curly hair was difficult to find. Rachel not only understands it, she is willing to take risks. I was looking for something fun and on the artistic side. She went above and beyond my expectations as a stylist and person. Thank you Rachel!! xoxo
Rachel did a great job of cutting my hair. I have short hair that was growing out into a goofy, unprofessional look, and with those challenges, Rachel did an amazing job. She changed the shape of my hair and she considered my styling habits when making the cut. I've got great curl definition, and get compliments on it regularly. And she's a super nice person.
I went to Rachel for the first time recently after trying for some time to find a curly hair stylist in Baltimore that I was pleased with since moving here in the last year. She did a great job and I also appreciated the relaxed atmosphere. So far I have been happy with the cut (one week later) and plan to see Rachel again for another cut. I was also pleased with the ability to schedule a time that really worked for me. I highly recommend!
I love my new hair cut, and my new stylist. I have been lusting hard over bangs for 10 years and always thought my curly hair meant I could never pull them off. Not so with Rachel! She is an artist and I am glad I gave her some creative freedom because what she did I didn't even know that I wanted/needed. Let me be clear, I am no stranger to curly and diva curl certified stylists, but Rachel is on another level. It's 50 minute commute for me to Rachel's salon, but as long as I live here, no one else will be touching my hair. Rachel was very accommodating of my CRAZY schedule and it is reassuring to know that I will be able to schedule an appointment around my crazy schedule. Just a note, Rachel started the popular salon "Sprout" in Baltimore, and is now working only at her new salon, not Sprout. So if you want Rachel's magic, and you do, you'll have to come here.
