Sarah is the stylist who convinced me that curly cuts were the only way to go. As a cheapskate, I'd tried my luck (with extraordinarily mixed reviews) at the Aveda Institute, but after my first cut at East 42nd Street, I forewent all other cuts but Sarah's! This worked for me even as a cheapskate, because her cuts grew out better than any others I'd had. In the past, my hair would grow into an awkward stage and I would become terribly antsy to have it cut as soon as absolutely possible. With Sarah's cuts, I'd notice after 3 months or so that it was a bit longer than I preferred or that my ends were getting those weird little knots, and I'd make an appointment to see her again. Sarah always cuts my hair dry; washes, conditions, and styles it; puts me under the dryer; and then does a final trim to clean up any wonky bits. My heart broke a little when I moved across the country and had to leave her, but I still visit when I make it back to Mpls. I recommend her wholeheartedly to curly- and straight-haired friends alike!
I went to Rosie on Sunday. She definitely knows what she is doing and is an expert on curly hair. She gives you step by step instruction on how to make your hair look its best. I recommend her to all you girls with curly hair!
I have been coming to this salon for over a year now, and I will NOT go anywhere else. These ladies know their curls and aren't afraid to teach you about your hair! First experience there, I nearly was in tears because I had never felt so good about my hair. It's curl therapy! Got curls? Go here! All the stylists are awesome (-:
I've been in search of a stylist for two years, that could help me manage my corkscrew/fractal curls and give me the shaping my curls desired. I need not, look any further--I have found my fantastic stylist in Carolyn. She knows exactly what to do, what to say and most importantly---she listens. I have learned many new tricks and tips and I can honestly say, my first cut with her was a pleasant experience. You 'ROCK' Carolyn. :)
I discovered the incredible Carolyn on naturallycurly.com 5 years ago and she instantly transformed my hair and how i care for it. she gave me an amazing deva curl-by-curl dry cut and detailed instructions for daily conditioning, wet drying and styling, and 2nd day curl care. she also helped end my life-long trial-and-error curly hair product search and switch permanently to deva. after 40+ years of looking for the perfect stylist, my dreams came true! :)
Until I found Carolyn I hated all aspects of my hair & struggled to find someone who understood curls. I drive over 65 miles just to get my hair cut! The first time was great. Carolyn took the time to explain how to wash, condition, & style my hair. She also told me what not to do...which I was doing daily. I couldn't be happier ...I just wish I was closer.
I love this salon. My hair is very curly and used to go all the way down my back. A year ago, I cut it into a bob. It was a scary commitment, but the girls at the East 42nd Street Salon did a wonderful job. I have full confidence in them. For the past number of months, I have been going to Laura. She does a great job with my hair, and I always leave happy. They cut your curls dry, which is amazing and makes way more sense. I'll never go back!!
My hair used to be so frizzy and flat. Now it looks great almost every day because I know how to care for it properly. I simply needed a specialized approach and some techniques for styling and caring for my wavy hair. I am so happy I found this salon which embraces hair diversity rather than a one-size-fits all approach. Erin is such a good listener and always has a positive attitude. I leave looking great and feeling great because of the attention Erin gives me while I am at the salon.
