Tanya is an awesome stylist, especially for us natural hair black women. She is one of the few people who isn't daunted about straightening thick, natural hair like mine. Her prices are very reasonable especially since as a college student I can't afford to spend a $100 on just one hair appointment. She's very well versed in all matters of styling natural hair (one of her styles that you can see is in my picture). Even when I'm in my hometown an hour away I still make the drive to go see her because she's that good with my hair.
I was referred to Tanya by a co-worker whose hair has been looking fantastic. Tanya gave me a great cut and blowout, though she cuts my co-worker's hair without straightening, so that's an option. I loved her customer service. We got started on time, no overbooking and she was very knowledgeable and forthcoming about products. I'll definitely be going back.
Before going to Tanya, it had been about 3 years since my last salon cut. Tanya was not intimidated by my multi-textured and badly shaped shoulder length 4a/b hair. As a fellow curly, she understood my styling challenges, bulk management issues, tangle issues, and the importance of not cutting too much. She also did a great job with my color, a rich chocolate brown, free of grays and brassy red ends. I left the salon with my hair fully styled and fully satisfied. 5 stars!
