If you are looking for someone who knows how to do curly hair, this is the salon Lisa was great she not only gave me an amazing new style, she took the time to teach me how to work with my curls. She did step by step with me for at home maintenance. She is great she listened to my concerns. I would definitely recommend her to all my friends with curly hair friends. Michelle
I was really excited to go to this salon based on the reviews I had read. Well I was not disappointed. Deena was the best. She listened to my concerns and explained everything she was doing. She even gave me written instructions on how I should care for my curls. I am new to the curly hair movement, but with people like Deena make the transition that much easier. You rock Deena! I will definitely come back.
If you're on Long Island, check out Deena for a curly cut. I've had very few bad hair days since I found her, despite the challenging weather we've had since last summer. My curls "fit together" better than they ever have, reducing frizz. She also does a great job of explaining and demonstrating how to care for curls so they hold their shape. I also love the salon - it's very cozy and personal.
My experience at zing was Great!! They know curly hair. Deena did a great job explaining the process on how she was going to cut my hair. I was a little concerned on how this was going to be done but when i was finished my hair was like i have never seen it before! I cannot wait to go back! The salon was very professional and well educated. I was also very impressed by the No Pressure atmosphere!! Everyone was ego free and made me feel very welcome!
I ENJOYED MY EXPERIENCE AT ZING, THE STYLIST EBONY WAS TRAINED AT DEVACHAN THE CURLY HAIR SALON IN MANHATTAN. SHE REALLY KNEW HER STUFF. SHE GAVE ME STEP BY STEP INSTRUCTIONS ON MAINTAINING MY CURLS, THE THINGS SHE TAUGHT ME WERE LIFESAVING TIPS, I WAS HAVING SUCH TROUBLE WITH MY HAIR AND NOW WITH THIS AMAZING HAIRCUT I FEEL LIKE A NEW PERSON.
I went to this salon because of the wonderful reviews. When I walked in I was greeted very nicely. The salon was very clean and professional. My stylits, Deena and her assistant ebony, were very informative as well. I have to say though, in the end, I was not impressed with the cut or the styling afterward. I left feeling like my hair had way too much product in it and there really was not a huge difference in the cut, either. Another thing I found discomforting was that I felt pressured into buying products and booking my next appointment. Anyways, $60 later, and my hair is back in a ponytail. :(
I had gotten my hair cut last weekend and was unsatisfied with the cut. I should have gone to Deena not only last weekend, but my whole life! First, the salon is super cute, quaint and chic. When I walked in I was greeted by a very sweet young lady who offered coffe, tea or water. All I encountered were smiles and pleasant personalities. Deena cut my hair dry, which MAKES SO MUCH SENSE WITH CURLY HAIR. She not only cut my hair, but taught me how to wash it properly and style it. She not only fixed my haircut, but taught me how to take better care of my locks. She was friendly, informative, kind and patient. Ebony, the young lady who washed my hair was also extremely helpful and incredibly sweet. I confirmed that Deena will not be leaving anytime soon as she owns the salon. I am super satisfied and can't wait to go back to her.
Finally! A real Devachan cut without schlepping to NYC. Deena carries all of the Devachan products along with some other great alternatives. She does it all! The dry cut, wash, Deva pin curls, dry and then recutting any curls that need extra tlc. She even had me flip my head upside down so she could trim the underneath curls. Results - great curls, great cut and a really pleasant surprise. Go See Deena!
