Brio's Latest Salon Reviews

Miranda Evans Husek - Morehead City, North Carolina, United States
Stylist:
Miranda Evans Husek

Jan 08, 2014 - I got a great Deva inspired cut from Miranda! One of the best cuts I've had in a while. You won't get the posh spa experience at the salon where she rents a booth: It's your basic salon with gray-haired ladies getting their hair set on Saturday. However, Miranda makes up for it with her upbeat attitude and a great cut. Even though I stylist, Miranda struggled like most of us curly girls to find something that worked on her hair. She discovered the curly girl book, got excited, and decided to go to NY to take the Deva class. Miranda seems very devoted to Deva. She uses it on her beautiful, dark curls. She even changed salons when her former salon would not allow her to use the Deva products. I highly recommend Miranda. It's great that I don't have to travel 100 miles now for a haircut and that big city is coming to rural Eastern NC.

Salon 123 - Albuquerque, New Mexico, United States
Stylist:
Yolanda

Oct 27, 2008 - I live in North Carlina, but went to Alburquerque for a conference a few weeks ago. After reading reviews here on NC.com, on a whim, I decided to make an appointment with Yolanda to have my hair cut while I was in Albuquerque. She did an excellent job. The technique, as she explained it, is a cut called the "cross-over cut." Yolanda said that the cut was actually designed for straight hair and it was the way that Jennifer Aniston had her hair cut during Friends -- the *first* way she had it cut. However, Yolanda thought it would work well on curly hair, so she tried it out on herself and found that it did work well on curls. The shape of my hair is wonderful! The next time I get my hair cut, I'm going to try to get my local stylist to use this same cut.
